Lesson 2
During this lesson we was set the task of creating a small film about a phone call, we were given strict instructions about the shots that has to be taken to complete the film. I was placed in a group with Luke and Rebecca. we were given 4 hours of lesson time to complete this task. for the first lesson we as a group decided just plan where we were going take our shots, the estimated duration of each shot and the dialouge we were going to use.
new start film- Lesson1
During todays lesson we were split into random groups of four. We were given a sheet and set the task of taking a shot of every angle on the sheet. In my group the was myself James, Karmen and Catherine, we all took it in turns filming and being in the shot. its was quite and enjoyable task, only one mistake was made and that was by myself i didn't realise i was recording and then when i was ment to film the shot i stoppped the recording. Atleast i now know to always check your recording when aiming to film.

Out of Class work
Today I started and finished my double spread piece. I choose to keep the same bright colours from my previous pieces to contain that same house style. I kept with my original idea of interviewing fans and not a DJ as I believe dance lovers would be interested in fellow dance lover’s opinions. I am very happy with my double page spread and believe as I have struggled with the use of photoshop from the word go believe it is a much better piece then what I had imagined myself giving in when we began this project.

Lesson 14
In this lesson we again had use of a double lesson in a computer room, I choose to carry on working on my front cover and I completed it to what I believe was quite a high standard for my ability. And then moved on to working on my contents I wanted to keep the same house style but I hadn’t had chance to take my photo’s yet. So I was working and leaving empty spaces for where I planned to place my photographs. At the end of this lesson I had fulfilled my lesson objective I set myself of finishing my contents page and front cover (without pictures). I’m extremely happy with my progress using the programme photoshop as a week before this lesson I was seriously wondering how I was going to be able create a decent, realistic looking magazine.
Lesson 13
During today’s lesson we one again had access to a ICT suite, to begin to work on our final products. I went over my mock up plans for my dance magazine and began my uphill struggle against photo shop.
This is my mock up sketch what I have designed my music magazine to look like in the end:
<- FRONT COVER
I still had a blank page in front of me halfway through our double lesson as I was struggling with the techniques what were needed for success using photoshop. So I decided to look for some inspiration and browsed other dance magazines for ideas. When I had cooled down and just taken 10 minutes out to think I came back with many good ideas and had practically finished my front cover by the end of the lesson and was very pleased. The planning I had done did help once I had begun but at the start I struggled as I couldn’t complete tasks which I had imagined I could and was slightly disappointed.
Lesson 12
During this lesson we went over our plans from the previous lesson about our magazines and moved into greater detail on them. We thought about the text images contents and articles and what else we were going to entertain readers with.
I choose to just sketch up where I was going to place my images and story’s. I have researched dance magazines thoroughly and every page that I create will be thought through word for word and mage for image.
I choose to not follow in the steps of my peers as they were all doing interviews with top artists in the genre. But I choose to do a dance magazine and do an interview with raver’s who know the in’s and out’s of dance music and there artists.
The lesson again reminded me of the great thought and detail I will to need to put into my work to produce a successful piece of work.

Lesson 11
In this lesson we started to think about the content and layouts of our magazine, brainstorming anf noting down different ideas. This was quite challenging, as we had to think about the genre, title, captions and images that will need to be taken in order to make the magazine a success.Images, content, layout, font, style and colours are all needed to make a music magazine, and how we portray these is key to making an interaction with our audiences. There has to be a house style, in order to keep the readers attracted and in line with the magazine and how it is presenting its information. The magazine's have to be thought about with great detail, before the producing of the final product starts to take place. Here, we have learnt how important it is to think about every aspect in detail in order to produce a magazine which has a significant impact on its readers and will make them want to read it again.
Lesson 10
During this lesson we were given the chance to use a computer room which gave us the opportunity to create a power point presentation about a music magazine of our choice। The magazine which I chose to produce a presentation on was NME- New Musical Express which is an indie rock magazine this showed me how indie rock music was portrayed to its target audience and how they show the different varieties of bands in different manors। we had to show what genre the magazine was, how successful it was through circulation and reading figures as well its target audience and how it began and how it got to where it is today. I really enjoyed this lesson and thrived at the fact of having to find things out with a set time frame as we had to complete this in our double lesson. This is my presentation:
Lesson 9
During this lesson we were set the task of writing an exam style essay, under exam conditions. It was about magazines print and online versions and they targeted there specific audiences. This gave us chance to show what we had learned over the past few weeks. It gave us a chance to think about what were the different things the different types of magazine offered. I discovered the Hip Hop Weekly, offered a ridiculous amount more in there print version, and there online magazine offered little more than there front cover story on there print version. It was certainly the worst online version to a magazine I have ever seen. This surprised me as print versions have a much lower limit of things they are able to do compared to online versions.
This task created the chance for me to really thing about the differences between online and print versions of magazines it gave me valuable insight in how they attempt to keep the same house style through both versions.

Lesson 9
Lesson 9 - During todays lesson we had to write an exam like question under exam contidtions with a time limit. it was about comparing magazines with there online versions and print versions and how they target there specific audiences. this gave me time to think about what i had discovered in the previous lesson and at home browsing internet versions. I found that Hip-Hop magazine had an extremaly poor online version, with no videos, no blogs and barley and images and it did not offer no extra interactional activities
In todays lesson we had to write an exam style essay under timed conditions, about the magazines print and online versions and how they target their specific audiences. This enabled us to think carefully about how the online versions of the music magazines offer many other aspects than what is avaliable in the printed versions. I found that the music magazine of NME- New Musical Express, had a lot more video footage of the music agenda and had a lot more interactivity than the printed version. The printed versions of all magazines are going to be limited in what they can offer as many of them are only weekly, if not monthly issues. Therefore, the most up to date news about music is going to be shown on the online versions and through E-Mail newsletters where avaliable. This task helped me to think about how the different magazines portray different aspects in each version of their music news. It enables me to think how many magazines keep the same style on the online version, and how different the information can be in both the printed and online versions.

Lesson 8
Lesson 8 - During this lesson we were seperated in to pairs, to focus on a certain music magazine to see how they represented the genre of muic it covered. The magazine me and my partner (Emma) were given to analayse was ' Hip Hop'. As the title suggested we came to the conclusion that it was a hip-hop magazine, also the magazine was full of images of hip-hop artists at red carpet events or events that have happend involving stars and also tour dates of hip hop artists.
most of the colours used were quite birght symbolising the livelyness of a hip hop stars life. there were many references to prove that the magazine's target audience were sixteen to twenty five year olds who enjoy listening to the hip hop genre, there is a certain language type to that hip hop artists and fans obviously use as i struggled to pick certain terms up, its something everyone who wasnt a regular reader would battle to understand. this lesson really showed me all the thought and care that goes in to a magazine so that the target audience in satisfied, its everything from colours, images to interviews.

Lesson 7
Lesson 7 - due to illness i missed the past few lessons, which involved taking images for our preliminary task and then using a double lesson to create the prliminaty tak which involved the creation a contens page and front cover of a school magazine. the lesson that i cam back in was the lesson where the rest of the class were finishing theres of. i was forced to use someones elses images that had been taken during the given time. i only had an hour to finish this piece, and therefore was in arush froim the start and again really struggled to get my head round using in photoshop which forced me to hand in a very weak piece.
Lesson 6
Leson 6- in this double lesson we as a class went into a computer room and used photoshop to create a front cover nor a nature magazine, using the images we took in our previous lesson.
i really did struggle to come to terms on how to use photoshop and was grateful for the time we had as this was just a practice task. i tryed to achieve the best i could with my limited knowledge on how to use this program. i attempted to create the most attractive front cover, that i could for my target audience. i used a image of a squirrel eating a nut, whilst perched on a tree. when the lesson came to an end i was dissapointed with my final frontcover and was frustrated with my lack of ability to use photoshop.

Lesson 5
Lesson 5- we were split in to pairs in this lesson to, as we were given the task to take images of nature which would be suitable for a nature magazine. i was pleased when i found out what we were doing in this lesson, as it gave us the oppurtunity to leave the classroom to get outside and to work us a team to find a appropriate image.
i was placed in a group with Emma and Dale, we made way to a large local pond just across the way from sixth form. When we was there Emma took a picture of a MAN made waterfall but was convinced it was nature much to my disaproval we made ourway back to school just to be informed that it wasnt nature and was sent away again to take a better image. This aggrivated me as it ment we lost valuable time. in the end i took an image of a squirrel eating from a tree, at several different angles and i was pleased with the outcome. Next lesson we will be using these images to trial photo shop with.

Lesson 4
Lesson 4 - During todays lesson, we had one of the computer specialists at our school come in to class to show us the basics of photoshop elements. he began showing us the functions so we could take notes to help us later when we come to using photo shop. photoshop is a programme on computer wihich gives you the ability to edit images for example covering spots. we were taught the basic uses of photo shop, i programme which i really struggle with.
in the second part of our double lesson, we began to study two magazines different universities. one of them was named 'Quad' which is a magazine aimed at post graduates from then queens collage in London. the other magazine we anaylased was names 'Newman' aimed at undergraguates of Newman collage. Both were extremely different and you could tell the age difference of who there target audience was, we looked into there Choice of font, titles, colour, layout and what the front covers had promised inside.

Lesson 2
Lesson 3
in this lesson, we concentrated on how we were going to produce our front page of our school magazine. we went over our work on sales pitch to remind us of the knowledge we had found out in our previous lesson. We carried on in our groups of two's and three's and each created a front cover for a seprate issues. we decide we needed to keep certain things the same on each edition throughout for example the name of the magazine, the font and the price. this is so people familiarise with the magazine and buy it on a regular basis. i took charge of issue two. this lesson helped me understand about who we have to consider when creating the magazine and how to keep our target audience intrested in each issue.

O MEDIA
Lesson 2.
During lesson two we were assigned groups i was placed with Dale and Catherine.
We we're set the task of showing a presentation to the class on our school magazine that we would be creating.
We had to come to joint decisions on things such as the title, who our target audience is how we should attract our target audience, and the price of what we would sell the magazine at. Thankfully we managed to agree on all of these matters.
I discovered that it was going to be more expensive then i had originally imagined to publish each copy of our magazine, we worked out that it going to be 74p and decided that we would have to charge £1.20 per copy to make a decent profit.
